Southwest Airlines Is Giving Away 1 Million Points and a Free Cruise—Here’s How to Enter

A free vacation could be just a click away.

That’s thanks to Southwest Airlines, which is currently giving away a total of one million Rapid Rewards points to six lucky winners along with the chance to score a free cruise experience. It is free to enter on the Southwest Cruises website, but interested travelers should act fast since the sweepstakes ends on July 31.

This is “your chance to win a dream cruise and a boatload of points,” Southwest Cruises shared on the contest site.

One lucky traveler will walk away with the winning prize package, which includes 500,000 Rapid Rewards points along with a £5,000 gift card to Carnival Cruises. That is valid for a cruise for two. In addition to the grand prize, five other winners will score 100,000 Rapid Rewards points each. The winners will be chosen in a random drawing about 30 days after the sweepstakes ends.

To enter, travelers must be at least 21 years old as well as legal residents of one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C. But carefully review the fine print when entering since the contest is also a promotion for Southwest Cruises and the company will send emails about their offers in the future, according to the terms.

Southwest Cruises is a division of the airline where travelers can purchase discounted cruises. Rapid Rewards members who book packages through the site earn 1 point per £1 spent (excluding the cost of port charges, port expenses, taxes, fees, or travel insurance). The company also promises if travelers find a lower cruise price elsewhere, Southwest will provide a 110 percent price match.

Within the Southwest Cruises website, travelers can book voyages on Carnival Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Virgin Voyages, and more. The website also offers luxury and river cruises, including on Azamara, Explora Journeys, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Viking River Cruises, and Windstar Cruises, among others.

The sweepstakes comes on the heels of Southwest’s decision to debut its new assigned seating policy in January 2026. The process won’t fully roll out until next year, but travelers will be able to start booking tickets and reserving seats for after the January launch starting July 29. It also comes months after the airline ended another long-standing (and often tested) policy of offering free checked bags and overhauled its fare classes, introducing new options of “Choice Extra,” “Choice Preferred,” “Choice,” and “Basic.”
